Daniel's nearly twenty-year career in technology has involved architecting key technologies for two successful startups, making deep contributions to foundational open-source projects, and investing in and advising the next generation of innovators.
Daniel's most recent startup role was as a Principal Engineer at data analytics company Looker, where he helped grow the company from its very early stages up through the $2.6B acquisition by Google in 2020. Before joining K5 in 2023, Daniel partnered with Keenan to run Tokyo Black. Daniel obtained his Master’s degree in Combinatorics & Optimization from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from Bishop’s University.
